I saw that, and the first thing I said to my hubby was that if it was an English show, you'd know she was flipping the bird because they use those two fingers in something similar to a peace sign only with the palm facing the person doing it... So, yes, I agree!

We're just discovering Castle. (I know, I know! But we've always watched something else opposite it and I haven't watched much on ABC in years.) I caught a couple in reruns and could instantly tell that it was a show that we would love. I couldn't find a good place to rent it, so I ordered all the DVDs since I was pretty sure my hubby would love it, too. Anyway, we just reached this point and 4x1 in the series, and WOW. Both episodes left me breathless. I had to search for a good review site and was so happy to come across yours. Thank you so much for these reviews.

I want to ask. It appears that at some point during 2012, you all stopped doing reviews? I don't want to look ahead in detail to confirm that (to avoid seeing spolers!), but your main page looks as though the reviews aren't updated past that, but that you do discuss on Twitter? Or have the reviews moved?

Totally agree with Trebor - it's just TV, and if you're not finding it entertaining or interesting enough, you really can just move on. These aren't real characters, and I think it's sad that people can be more invested in Castle and Beckett than actual people who exist in real life. It's just not that serious, it's all make-believe. I've never understood continuing to watch just to complain about it, long after the enjoyment has faded. Life's way too short!

Do you have a photo or information about that gorgeous a green/blue "peacock" dress worn by Martha Rodgers in the beginning of "A Dance with Death"? The dress appeared during a conversation between Martha and Castle about past reviews.

That dress is gorgeous - A must have! Love it!

Thank you,

First of all Kate has to return, she is the only woman on the show with an actual talent; her singing brings a light to the series that it appears none of the other characters has the ability to bring. But what would be an even more interesting twist is if Kate's passion for singing leads her to develop a very "close" relationship with the African American factory worker who once saved her from rape. How taboo would that be??? It would definitely be something to see Betty's reaction to that relationship; because at this point she hasn't a leg to stand on! It would be nice to know a little more about Betty and how she got so messed up. Who did what to her? Who made her develop such a tough skin and mistrust for men? Sexual abuse? I think there is a lot to be explored there.

Vera is a good lady, but it would be nice to see her with a younger man who could bring some life back into her; to see the light come back into those cold eyes and some real warmth. Marco could be good for her; besides her husband is already hanging out with the widow and her kid. As for Gladys and her fiance (what's his name? Any who!) he should definitely not return from the war or at least a long MIA. I think it would be nice to see Gladys spread her wings a little and experience life, after her parents have had such a tight leash on her.
